Privacy Policy

This policy explains what Wordcountr collects, what stays on your device, what our processors handle on our behalf, and how to contact us about privacy requests.

Important

Wordcountr is not designed for sensitive or regulated data. Please do not submit sensitive personal data, health data, government ID numbers, payment card details, children's data, or highly confidential information anywhere in the service.

The editor is designed so your draft text is stored locally in your browser on your own device. If you use AI features, the submitted text is sent to Microsoft Azure OpenAI so the feature can respond.

Overview

Wordcountr is operated by Monday Labs LLC at wordcountr.app. This Privacy Policy applies to the public website, the editor, AI rewrite features, billing flows, and related support interactions.

We aim to minimize how much user text we keep. We do not intentionally store the text you type into the editor or the AI outputs returned to you in our own application databases by default. We do, however, store account, billing, analytics, and operational records where needed to run the service.

What We Collect

Depending on how you use Wordcountr, we may process the following:

  • Editor content: text that you type or paste into the editor, including prompts and outputs when you use AI features.
  • Account data: your email address and related sign-in records when you authenticate through our account system.
  • Billing data: subscription status, credit balances, checkout metadata, transaction references, and webhook records required to operate paid features.
  • Usage and device data: information such as browser, device type, rough diagnostics, and feature usage events.
  • Support communications: the information you send to us when you contact support.

How Storage Works

Draft text entered into the editor is stored locally in your browser using storage on your device so you can continue your session. That local copy is controlled by your browser and device environment.

We do not intentionally store editor text or AI outputs in our own persistent application databases as part of the normal Wordcountr workflow. Our systems may still transiently process submitted text in memory to complete requests, protect the service, or return results.

We do store the non-editor data required to run the product, such as authentication records, billing state, credits, operational logs, webhook events, fraud-prevention data, and analytics events.

AI Processing

If you use AI features, the text you submit and the generated result are processed through Microsoft Azure OpenAI so we can provide the requested rewrite or editing action.

Based on Microsoft's current service documentation, prompts and completions sent through Azure OpenAI are not shared with the public OpenAI API service and are not used to train foundation models unless you explicitly permit or instruct that use. Microsoft may, however, process certain data for abuse monitoring, safety, and service protection.

Because AI providers process submitted text, you should not use Wordcountr for sensitive, regulated, or confidential information.

Billing and Taxes

Paid plans, top-ups, checkout, invoicing, and related payment operations are handled by LemonSqueezy. LemonSqueezy acts as merchant of record for purchases made through its checkout flow.

That means LemonSqueezy may collect payment details, calculate and collect applicable VAT, sales tax, GST, or similar transaction taxes, and issue tax-compliant receipts or invoices where required.

Monday Labs LLC receives the billing and subscription information needed to activate your credits, manage your plan, respond to support requests, and maintain internal financial records.

Your Rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, restrict, or object to certain processing of your personal information, and to request a portable copy of certain information.

If processing is based on consent, you may have the right to withdraw that consent. You may also have the right to complain to your local data protection or privacy regulator.

To exercise your rights, email support@wordcountr.app.

International Transfers

Wordcountr serves customers worldwide. As a result, your information may be processed in countries other than your own, including countries where our infrastructure providers or processors operate.

Where required by law, we rely on appropriate contractual or operational safeguards for international transfers and limit the data shared to what is reasonably necessary for the service.

Retention

We keep personal information only for as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes described in this policy, including security, support, tax, accounting, fraud prevention, and compliance obligations.

Browser-stored editor content remains on your device until you clear it, overwrite it, or your browser removes it under its own rules.

Key Service Providers

We currently rely on service providers including:

  • Supabase for authentication and application data infrastructure.
  • Microsoft Azure OpenAI for AI text processing.
  • LemonSqueezy for merchant-of-record billing, subscriptions, top-ups, and applicable tax handling.
  • Firebase Analytics for product analytics and usage measurement.

Children's Privacy

Wordcountr is not directed to children, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children where doing so would require parental consent that has not been obtained.

If you believe a child has provided personal information through the service, contact us at support@wordcountr.app so we can review and address the request.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will post the updated version here and revise the last updated date at the top of the page.
